What’s better: the view, or the Yamaha XS400?
For my money, it’s the dirt-track Yamaha. Built by Seth Hensler, the frame is a classic 1981 XS400 that he managed to buy for just $100.
The designs aside, this uses a variety of parts Yamaha classics. The fuel tank comes from the XT350, from which he also borrowed the suspension package. The engine itself is an impressive mix of Mikuni VM30 carburettors, a pair of truly fantastic Honda CR250F exhaust cans and a selection of original parts. Cup front, the brakes and tyres are upgraded, and the new 19inch rear-wheel comes with a Shinko tyre. Check the before and after pic’s below to see how much this old classic has really changed.
